Hubbard's WXOS, 101 ESPN, has hired Indianapolis radio veteran Kent Sterling as Program Director. Here's Kent's website.
Note: Kent was fired from WIBC in January 2010, but don't hold that against him. Not yet, anyway.
Indiana native Kent Sterling joins the station from award-winning WIBC Radio/Network Indiana, where he served as Program Director. Kent will join 101 ESPN on Monday, June 20, 2011.
During Sterling’s leadership there, WIBC experience significant growth – in listenership, ratings and revenues within the Indianapolis radio market. In 2009, WIBC won the 2009 Marconi Award for Best Large Market Station, and the news/talk radio station also won multiple Marconi’s in previous years for Legendary Station, Best Medium Market Station and News/Talk Station of the Year.
WIBC also won the National Association of Broadcaster’s “Crystal Award” in 2009 under his helm. WIBC also received multiple news team awards in three Indiana statewide categories in the annual Indiana Broadcasters Association Spectrum Awards – Best News Team, Best Breaking News Coverage and Best Series.
Kent Sterling studied journalism at Indiana University, and has completed additional leadership training courses with the Dale Carnegie Institute and Creative Resources in Indianapolis.
