UPDATE: Former KHTR/KLOU jock Joe Crain writes: Mike... I've heard this aircheck years ago and it's a blast to hear it again. Especially, the first contest winner with Craig Roberts. The excited Salem, ILL Jr. High student winning the KXOK t-shirt is none other than Tammi Renfrow, better known to St. Louis listeners as TAMMI RUSH in the late 80's/early 90's on KHTR, Y-98 and HOT-97.
More info: These tracks are a prelude to a great new website on the long (40+ years), wildly successful and storied career of STL's own Jonnie King. His website will launch sometime this coming week; I've been able to take a sneak look and there's a huge amount of radio history there.
