Trade mag reports McElvein is backwards ...

Well, not really.  TomTaylor reports Doug's admisson  that he occasionally futzed with recorded tapes in his early radio days:

KMOX, St. Louis personality Doug McElvein says "There was a time years ago when WVLK in Lexington ran a big block of religious programming on Sunday mornings. One of the shows came in on reel-to-reel tape, tails out. I was the guy who goofed and ran the entire 15-minute show backward! That error escaped detection, but not the time I began stopping and then starting the Oral Roberts tape, where he would say “Something good! (pause) is going to happen to you." I managed to get that pause up to a good 20 seconds before PD Jim Jordan called and pointed out that he knew what I was doing, and that I had better knock it off."
