Please note that: (1) your humble writer first experienced the raw emotional and musical power of this amazing song on his Little Red Transistor Radio during the 1963 Christmas Season, 47 years ago; (2) The singer, Darlene Love, has been named to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; (3) Rolling Stone Magazine calls this the #1 R&R Christmas Song of All Time; and (4) Darlene Love has performd this song on the final live Letterman show before Christmas since 1986, over the span of nearly a quarter-century. And Darlene keeps on kicking out the merry-merry jams...
