St. Louis Gets a Third 50kW AM Signal; Fairview Heights Gets Radio Station ...

... daytime at least, as Entertainment Media Trust (Bob Romanik's) 1430 KZQZ (formerly WIL-AM) receives approval to increase its daytime signal to a full 50,000 Watts using its current 4 nighttime towers, and remaining at 5,000 Watts nighttime. The daytime coverage will be among the best in the market, and due to the directionality, probably better then KMOX to the due east and west to blast 50s/60s Oldies Music across the area.

Romanik also received approval from the FCC to change the City of License of his 1190 KQQZ DeSoto, MO to Fairview Heights, IL, and upgrade nighttime service from a mere 22 watts up to a more respectable 650 watts which will give it reasonable night coverage in most of the East Side and St. Louis City and inner ring suburbs in the County. Daytime power remains at 10,000 Watts from the current site near Pontoon Beach,IL.
