Ron Jacobs created the station as PD, along with Bill Drake as consultant and others and then Jacobs wrote the book about it. 

$93.  I know, sounds expensive, but it recreates in words and audio how the whole LA Top 40 thing grew and what it accomplished throughout the industry.

It includes memoes to jocks, like this:
