From his press release:
JC Fans Enjoy The Daily Dose and Other Great Features
JC Corcoran, one of St. Louis' most-familiar broadcasters, has re-vamped his popular website, jcontheline.com.
"The Daily Dose is a ten-minute video blog I update each day," JC said. "It's a condensed version of what I've been doing on radio over the years. I often thought my four-hour show only used to have about ten minutes of actual content. Now I get to prove it everyday," he joked. The Daily Dose is posted each weekday afternoon around 1 pm. JC comments on news stories, music, comedy, sports, entertainment and whatever happens to catch his eye. There are no program directors, consultants, or even the FCC to get in the way. "We also include a relevant photo or video each day," Corcoran said. "It's called JC's Eye Candy."
JContheline.com also features lots of classic St. Louis television moments. "I've been recording what amounts to St. Louis television history for twenty-six years now," Corcoran said. "We're releasing these segments on the website each week." Want to see what KSDK's Jennifer Blome look like a quarter century ago, one of Trish Brown's goofy hairstyles on KMOV, an interview with Ozzy Osbourne that's actually intelligible or some classic television appearances by JC? You'll see TV commercials, newscasts, as well as rare video of people gone from the market for some time. New segments are loaded each week on JC's Way-Back Machine and JC's Video Village. Fans can also access The Daily Dose on I-Tunes. An extensive selection of memorable broadcast moments is scheduled to be added soon.
As host of the Morning Showgram on K-HITS96 in St. Louis from 2002 through 2009, JC Corcoran finished at or near the top of the ratings heap, producing record 25 to 54 numbers. In particular, JC delivered top numbers in the 25 to 54 male demo, and even higher numbers in the 35 to 64 demo. Corcoran was also the driving force behind the success of the station's website which frequently attracted almost a half-million page-views per month. Now, with jcontheline.com, the goal is to re-connect with that massive audience and advertisers. An impressive list of area businesses can collectively attest to the fact that, "when JC speaks favorably of our place we see immediate and impressive results."
With the "Daily Dose," JC is as comfortable in front of a camera as he is in front of a microphone, having appeared on St.Louis television for almost twenty years. From 1985 to 1991 JC was entertainment editor at KSDK (NBC). From 1992 to 1999, JC served in an identical capacity at (CBS) KMOV. In 2007-2008, JC provided commentary on the FOX2 5 pm and 9 pm news. For additional information on JC's twenty-six yearlong broadcast career in St. Louis visit the website's bio page.
Way to go, JC! Audio, current and "conserved" video...lots to explore.
And that site, by the way, is where the ad FOP and I did for the late, unlamented KIX104 came from. It'll be featured there in the next few weeks. With, presumably, appropriate commentary by Mr. Corcoran.
