... are you going to take the web along with you? If so, how? Smartphone? 3G-4G connection? Satellite? Wireless from your vaca home?
Do you use a netbook or a laptop? Does someone in your transportation chain connect while you're on the road? Movies for the kids played from a service in the vehicle? SatRad for you to listen? Do you completely ignore broadcast radio? Do you listen to CB for road and traffic conditions?
Do you post text/audio/video while out of pocket? On the road?
How can you live without the InterNet? Or is your vacation really a complete respite from the wired world?
Let's get a concensus of travel practice on the site.
We carried a Tandy laptop on a trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the late-1980's, plugging it into a wall phone receptacle in the hotel there and using it, via Prodigy and Compuserve, to discover cool restaurants and areas to explore. It's all gotten much better defined since then.
