STL ABC TV affiliation up for grabs?

Maybe.  Secret Squirrel dug this up whilst tossing a few back with his newspaper buddies at the Missouri Bar & Grill...but we have heard this before:

Don't be too surprised if ABC makes a change in St Louis. Sinclair is trying to get its affiliation for KDNL renewed. That puts it in play. Do the math.

Well, the math is pretty obvious.  TV's 2, 4, 5, 9 and 24 are what they are and are unlikely to become anything else.  That leaves KPLR/TV 11 as the likely candidate.  The question, though, is why any station would want to become a new alpha-net affiliate these days.  Money, I guess, but, shoot, that's not gonna last but so long.  There are just too many other, more effective places for advertisers, from national down to local, to use.
