Which is the real story?
This:
Fox 2 / KPLR 11 have a problem with "anchor" Melanie Moon. She went on a movie-studio funded junket to Tahiti and Bora-Bora (along with Fox 2's Kevin Steincross) to file live fluff via satelitte from Bora-Bora about a movie being filmed there. Steincross did a dozen live shots. Moon missed her plane in Tahiti, didn't make a single live shot, seemingly vanished, never called the station to let them know what happpened or that she was okay, and blew off all of KPLR's promotion about the live shots. Now she has the gal to put postcard pics of Bora-Bora on her Facebook site. Since Ms. Moon is now on a scheduled unpaid furlough, the station can't legally contact her until she returns next Monday. And then, lots of problems may begin.
or this:
Mike, the information on the Moon story is completely untrue and shame on you for posting it. I'm a producer at KTVI/KPLR and she didn't miss her flight. She did miss her live shots but it was because she and other journalist and some of the actors, got stuck for the night in Tahiti because the Bora Bora runway had to be shutdown because of electrical problems. She and Stiencross were on different flights as scheduled by the studio. The only problem was a failure in communication for Universal to inform KTVI was had happened. You should really remove this malicious post. It was just written by a disgruntled employee.
Frankly, I'd prefer to think that Melanie went rogue/native. But that's just me.
