The Sound Broadcasting from New Tower

Clear Channel's Modern AC WSDD "100.3 The Sound," has made the move to Bridgeton, MO from its longtime home of Alton, IL. The station is now broadcasting from a 300ft tower near Page Avenue & Diehlman Rd. in Overland, MO, which will give the station a much better signal to South County and the inner city than it had before at its previous Alton site.

In order to get closer however, the station downgraded from a 50,000 Watt full Class B to a 17,500 Watt Class C3 facility. While the signal improves in St. Louis County and City; it loses some coverage on the east side, and a great deal of coverage that was being wasted into rural Western Illinois and Northeastern Missouri.

Compare the old coverage area on the top to the new one on the bottom, and you will see that while it does not cover as large of a radius, the signal in the core of the market improves greatly.
