Journolist ...

So there was this listserv called Journolist, set up with a password, and meant to be a place for "professional journalists" to meet up and then set daily agendas upon which they should agree and then report.

Oddly, the viewpoint was almost always leftist.  In other words, deliver the same song in all associated media.  This will eventually be seen to be a politically driven media blitz, driving news coverage in one political direction.

The NYT reported on Journolist.

The WaPo reported on the decline and fall of the Journolist.

Politico reported on the Journolist.

Mediaite reported on Journolist.

Slate reported on Journolist.

My bet is if the membership of the Journolist listserv was outed, it would be astonishingly embarassing to the left-wing media, showing how closely the members are related and how few right-wing media are involved.

So who sets the press agenda nationally?  400 or so writers for the left or a few for the right?
