Concealed carry guy Rick Perry, who happens to be the Governor of Texas, was out jogging when a coyote attacked his dog. Perry shot the coyote.
Perry told The Associated Press on Tuesday he needed just one shot from the laser-sighted pistol he sometimes carries while jogging to take down a coyote that menaced his puppy during a February run near Austin.
Perry said he will carry his .380 Ruger — loaded with hollow-point bullets — when jogging on trails because he is afraid of snakes. He'd also seen coyotes in the undeveloped area.
Good shot, using a .380 mousegun, usually useless beyond 10-15 feet. Glad the gov's pup is okay.
I'd have been jogging with a Judge, like a .410 handgun. But that's just me. With all the wildlife around here, I let Tasha out and watch her like a hawk with a Glock 26 in my hand.
