Jack Rinne celebrates 40 years on the air ...

Jack writes:

I celebrate 40 years on the radio on Monday, March 1, on the internet at www.AmericasHometown.net , which streams KHBL/FM96 in Hannibal.

At age 18, I began at KXEO/KWWR in Mexico MO, on March 1, 1970.

My program, JR's Classic Cuts, airs at 7:30AM and 1:30 and 7:30PM. The first record I played in 1970 was by Led Zeppelin, and I will play a Led Zepp cut that Monday. I hope my friends will listen that day. I would be honored.

Just a note...my first broadcast in St. Louis was in the summer of 1978 with newsman Frank Absher at 96FM/KADI. I took over mornings, for departing Jim Doyle, who went to KMOX-FM.

Bless your heart, Jack...and may you have as many more years before the microphone as you want!
