JC Corcoran off to Houston ...

JC's press release:

93.7 The Arrow KKRW Names JC Corcoran New Morning Show Host ...

Houston, Texas – March 1, 2013 – 93.7 The Arrow KKRW, Houston’s Classic Rock Station, announced today that JC Corcoran will join the station as its new Morning Show Host. Corcoran will host weekday mornings from 5:30-10 a.m. CT, beginning March 21, 2013.

In addition to The Arrow Morning Show, Corcoran will be a contributor to Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Houston’s talk stations, KTRH and KPRC. Prior to joining the Houston market, he spent the last twenty-nine years in St. Louis as a radio personality at various stations including KSHE, KSD, KIHT and KMOX. While in St. Louis, Corcoran also served as an Entertainment Editor and Commentator at NBC, CBS and Fox television stations as well as columnist at St. Louis Sports Magazine. Corcoran’s previous radio experience also includes stops at DC101 in Washington, D.C., 97Rock in Buffalo, N.Y and The Loop in Chicago.

“After being on-air in the Midwest for so long it’s exciting to now have the opportunity to connect with people in an entirely new region,” said Corcoran.

“We’re excited to have JC on our team,’ said Marc Sherman, Operations Manager, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Houston. “He’ll bring a fun, new approach to The Arrow that our audience will definitely enjoy.”

“People started trying to run me out of town two weeks after I got here back in 1984, so I consider it a moral victory that it took them twenty-nine years to do it,” Corcoran added. “In all seriousness, I’m proud of the longevity I had here, the scores of charities we helped raise money for, and the fact I took an unprecedented three, also-ran morning shows on the three different stations, to number one. It’s never been done before in St. Louis and I doubt it will ever happen again.”

Corcoran will continue to perform swing duty on WGN Radio in his hometown of Chicago where he’s been filling in since last April.

The deal was negotiated by Corcoran’s longtime attorney, Jeff Gershman, of Stone, Leyton & Gershman in Clayton.
