Just in time to save St. Louis from an overindulgence of holiday music, 106.5 The Arch will be playing their entire music library for the first-ever "A to Z Week" music marathon.
Beginning Monday, November 21 at 12:00 noon through Sunday evening, November 27, 106.5 The Arch will be rolling out their playlist in alphabetical order, and with no repeats. With more than 1,400 hits, 106.5 The Arch has the largest music library in St. Louis radio.
First hit up today will be "ABC" from the Jackson 5, and the last record played will be "Zoot Suit Riot" by the Cherry Poppin' Daddies on Sunday.
And so it goes. If you wanna know all of the songs on the list, subscribe to whatever playlist monitor that covers The Arch.
In the 1970's, Paul Drew's Philadelphia Top40 WIBG published their Memorial Day 300 Top Hits of All Time, as they were to be counted down in order, on a full-page ad in the Philadelphia Bulletin.
Bad move. Jay Cook's station, WFIL, the competition, got a copy of the WIBG list and began the countdown a song or two earlier than WIBG.
Yes, WFIL got to the market's #1 song two tracks before WIBG. Back then it mattered.
