I'm sure that you are aware that we adjusted the music on KSHE last Wednesday at Noon. I'm also sure that you know KSHE's ratings have not been good for some time.
We had to do something. We made the station more mass appeal. The strategy we implemented will allow KSHE and K-HITS to coexist and prosper. We changed the Loop in Chicago in a similar way several months ago. Since then the station has had the best ratings it ever had as an Emmis station. Also, it did not pull down the ratings at the the station in Chicago that is most similar to K-HITS.
Additionally, the Point may benefit from the changes. The Point is now the only place you'll hear current rock, grunge and Metallica.
We'll see ratings impact for the first time in mid-October.
"We had to do something. We made the station more mass appeal."
Well, that'll solve everything, right? Maybe they can play some of that '70's disco stuff?
