In the '80's, KUSA/AM550 promoted itself unceasingly ...

... not only on the air but with travelling country music road shows.  All of the DJ's and newspeople, some sales types, too, had a part.  Think "a little song, a little dance, a little seltzer in the pants" and you'll just about have it.  KTRS/AM550's afternoon star, Frank O. Pinion, was a big part of these shows during his time at the station.  Historically, FOP holds the record for the longest (interrupted or continuous) employment at that frequency in STL radio history, working there when it was KUSA, again when it was KSD-AM and, for the past ten-plus years, at as it is now called, KTRSAM550 gets around, baby!
