End of an era ...

I actually discovered this during my conversation with the hospitalized Stel Pontikes yesterday afternoon...

From their website: Yes it’s true. Reynold’s Roadhouse Restaurant with over 35 years at this location will be moving. Due to the increase in rent and constant repairs and not able to expand we have to move. But we are excited about the new location-3150 Elm Point Industrial Drive, St. Charles (formerly Chuck A Burger). You take 270 to 370, get off the Elm exit, just down from St. Louis Mills. Our opening day will be July 25th. It has a drive-thru, car hop slots, a patio and more seating inside dining. We will be open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, from 5 am to 9 pm. We will serve beer and wine, have car and bike cruises and live music. It will be a non smoking environment inside, but you are welcome to sit on the patio and smoke. The Dorsett location will stay open til July 24th, Sunday.

I've had too many breakfasts and lunches to count at Reynolds in Maryland Heights over the years, the earliest of which was probably in 1987 or 1988.  Of course, readers of this website will remember the many "Monthly Meetings" we had there, during which we solved almost all of the nation's, world's and industry's problems and had many hail fellow, well met moments.

I dunno, but the drive thru, the patio, car-hop slots and liquor service may make the new Reynolds just a little too much with itself for my taste.  I'll try to grab a photo of the old joint for the record and Mrs. A and I might make it to the final breakfast service on Sunday.

One more Big Breakfast:  three eggs over, home fries, all-bacon and hold the biscuits and gravy for later, okay? And keep the coffee comin'...
