Subscription-based TrendMicro served itself well over the years I used it, but I've used AVG on all of the newer systems, mostly because it was free. As TM's subscription ran out, I plugged AVG in, and then into the main system, along with a raft of associated hard-drive cleaning, management and optimization software.
