Ameren/UE gets their PR in better shape ...

Late Thursday PM, the 'lectric went out at about 520 homes around me in our subdivision (what we call "the usual suspects") because of a sudden burst of wind.  Ameren's automated reporting system told us who lost what and where when we called it in.  They also told us that the power would be restored no later than 1AM Friday morning.

We got power back much sooner.

But within a half-hour of restoration of the grid, I got an automated call from Ameren making sure we were back online and asking me to "Press 1" if we were.

I'm impressed.
