A little grist for the show mill ...

I'm hard pressed to find similar material involving stars from the studio days of the 1930's through the 1960's, when movie stars were actually taught by their employers not only how to act but how to act politely and with grace and aplomb in public.

Not so anymore.  Entertainment Weekly has collected 19 great contemporary meltdowns, including some amazing audio.  Just in time to review what is guaranteed to be an Academy Awards show of less than stellar impact.

And speaking of which:

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the ABC television network said Thursday they had extended their licensing agreement six years, through 2020. The agreement keeps the Academy Awards telecast a fixture on ABC, and the announcement comes just days before this weekend's 83rd annual Oscar gala on the network.

But the real question is whether or not ABC will still be around in 2020!
