Amazon Prime, which also offers free and expedited shipping for merchandise sold thru Amazon, now includes free instant streaming video (they claim 90,000 movies and hit tv shows) as part of the $90 a year service. Works with Roku but, so far, not with Boxee.
Looks like I'll be returning Boxee.
