Secret Squirrel-ly Format Speculation ...

From a quiet but connected reader:

With Mark Anderson's departure, I believe that this sets into motion a very active chain of events:

1. CBS launches CHR on 102.5. Jeff Kapugi's return to the market and Mark Anderson's reuniting with Dom Theodore has to spell trouble for KSLZ, right?

2. The Bull is toast. Look for Classic Country to replace it, but not at 93.7.

3. In response to CBS blowing up KEZK, Clear Channel kills off The Sound and puts Classic Country on 100.3. Skeptics who are reading this and thinking "Why?" need only consider this -- 93.7 has been just about every form of Country in the last few years, from mainstream to "young". The Country audience has grown tired of the changes on that frequency and won't come back to the pre-Christmas form. So, if you're going to do Classic Country, you have to move it to another frequency.

4. In further response to CBS blowing up KEZK, Clear Channel brings "Lite 93.7" to St. Louis (as suggested elsewhere).

5. Clear Channel chooses not to sign a new contract with MJ, playing defense to the new CBS CHR and goes local, likely with Mason and Remy, on KSLZ. Tessa Hall moves from The Sound to the new Z107.7 morning show (she has previous CHR morning show experience). Todd Violette moves down the hall to mornings on the new Lite 93.7.
