... and I'm all out of bubble gum.
AMC is showing fright flicks all this weekend for Halloween, and one is the amazing 1988 They Live.
Two things about this movie:
1. The line of dialogue quoted above has persisted in many forms thru this day. "I came here to (do this) and (do that) and I'm all out of (that)."
2. The fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David lasts as long as any fist fight scene in any movie, ever, 6"+. Watch it below. NOTE: Video NSFW!
And one more thing, since I worked with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper as a wrestler for a few years:
Back when I was involved with the NWA, a professional wrestling outfit out of North Carolina (before the WWF/WWE bought it out) I worked a match between Rick "Nature Boy" Flair and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, both of whom had a money bitch with the company's owners, the Murnicks.
The match was the last one of the evening and, while scheduled for sixty minutes, actually had to end in about twenty, so we could clean up the arena, break down the ring and not go into union worker overtime.
Rick and Greg played and rolled around for the full sixty minutes, laughing and scratching their way through the match, ending in a draw long after the time limit. They weren't paid more than their contracted amount, nor was I, but the union arena workers and the police guards were.
It cost the Murnicks thousands of dollars to close the arena late. Just that one evening, thousands of dollars.
They sold the circuit later that year to Mr. McMahon.
